Gen AI Toolkit, featuring an integrated assistant, aims to streamline operations for developers in Docker.
Docker, known for container-based application development, has joined hands with Neo4j, LangChain, and Ollama to unveil the Gen AI Toolkit. This aims to be a comprehensive platform enabling developers to weave generative AI seamlessly into their applications.
The innovative Gen AI Toolkit blends Neo4j’s graphing and vector search potential with LangChain’s orchestration features.
The collaboration between Docker and Neo4j is structured to enhance the speed of AI models and anchor extensive language models (LLMs) to Neo4j’s knowledge grid, aiming for sharper predictive analytics. On the other hand, LangChain’s orchestration mechanisms are set to simplify the bridging of the database to the vector index, and associating the LLM to the respective app.
Linking the database to the vector index offers a robust foundation for crafting reasoning applications informed by the LLMs, the firm highlighted.
Ollama’s involvement is intended to equip developers with the capability to operate open-source LLMs on local systems.
This toolkit, primed with pre-set open source LLMs like Llama 2, Code Llama, and Mistral, is complemented by an array of tools, coding blueprints, tutorials, and guidelines on generative AI.
The Gen AI Toolkit can be accessed both via Docker Desktop’s Learning Center and on GitHub.
Furthermore, Docker has rolled out a cutting-edge generative AI aide named Docker AI through a preliminary access scheme.
Setting it apart from other code generators like Copilot or Amazon CodeWhisperer, Docker AI is tailored to assist developers in dissecting and addressing every facet of an app, Docker’s head Scott Johnston revealed.
“Docker AI offers specific, automated advice to coders while they modify a Dockerfile or Docker Compose document, rectify their local ‘docker build,’ or conduct a local test,” Docker’s official communique read, emphasizing the aide’s role in allowing developers to concentrate on app creation and not just the tools.
