JetBrains has recently unveiled Qodana Self-Hosted, a variant of its code quality platform utilizing the static code analysis engine found in JetBrains IDEs. This new offering allows organizations to deploy and manage Qodana on their own infrastructure, providing enhanced control over sensitive data, user accounts, and maintenance processes.
The announcement, made on July 3, positions Qodana Self-Hosted as an alternative to the company’s cloud-based Qodana Ultimate Plus, delivering robust static code analysis capabilities tailored for businesses of all scales. Key features include comprehensive issue tracking, seamless integrations with JetBrains IDEs and Visual Studio Code, rapid issue resolution, CI/CD pipeline integration, license validation, customizable rule-based inspections, and more.
According to JetBrains, Qodana Self-Hosted is particularly beneficial for enterprises needing to safeguard proprietary information by keeping code projects isolated. It also addresses compliance concerns for industries bound by stringent data sovereignty laws, offering control over data storage and processing.
JetBrains claims that Qodana Self-Hosted potentially outperforms shared cloud environments, promising enhanced performance and reliability. Initially supporting Amazon Web Services, future updates are expected to expand hosting options.
Pricing for Qodana Self-Hosted starts at $40 per developer per month, with a demonstration available for interested parties.
Qodana initially debuted in preview in 2021 and transitioned to full commercial availability in 2023. Recent updates include an Early Access Preview for Qodana’s C and C++ linter, alongside the introduction of FlexInspect for custom code inspections. Additionally, JetBrains has introduced static analysis capabilities for .NET projects through Qodana Community for .NET.
